Pest control in Sacramento

Ants and spiders in Sacramento homes

Ants rarely come from the kitchen. They come from a trail that runs along a fence, a pipe or a foundation, and the kitchen is where it ends.

Spiders are different. They hunt, so most of the work is removing webs and egg sacs and closing what lets their food in.

We treat both from the outside in, and we tell you what to leave alone so the treatment can work.

Signs you have it

  • A line of ants on a counter, a windowsill or along a baseboard
  • Ants coming and going at the same crack, day after day
  • Webs in the corners of eaves, garages and meter boxes
  • More small insects at the porch light, which draw spiders

What we do

Four steps, in this order

Most homes need one to three visits for ants. Spiders are usually a visit and a follow-up.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Inspect

We walk the outside, the garage and the kitchen, and follow the trail to where it starts.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Identify

We tell you what species it looks like, because trail ants and carpenter ants are handled differently.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Treat

We treat the outside and the entry points first, then inside where we find activity.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Prevent

We tell you what to trim, seal or move, and note it on your service report.

Your part

Before and after the visit

  • Before we come

    • Put food away and wipe the counters the night before

    • Clear the baseboards and under the sink so we can reach them

    • Move pet bowls and plants away from the walls

  • After we leave

    • Leave wiped trails alone for a day so the treatment can work

    • Sweep up dead insects; don't spray them

    • Call if you see activity after the window on your report

Questions

Questions about this visit

How many visits will ants take?

Most homes need one to three, depending on how many trails there are and how far the nest is. We say what we expect at the first visit.

Do you treat spiders you can't see?

We treat where they hide and travel: eaves, corners, garages and meter boxes. We can't promise you'll never see one.

What if the pests come back?

Call the number. If the pest we treated for comes back within 60 days of a visit, we return and treat the same areas at no charge. That covers the pests named on your service report. It doesn't cover pests we didn't treat for, or entry points we asked you to seal that stay open. Plan customers get return visits between scheduled visits for as long as the plan is active.
